Bianca Rei
She was born on the 28th of August on the year of the Tiger, 1986. Bianca Rei is the eldest among five equally talented and lovely girls. Ever since she was a kid, she has been very passionate about music. Music is her way of expressing her emotions, her feelings. It's what comforts her when she's sad, gives her peace of mind when she's confused. However, singing was not her first love but dancing. She started dancing from the moment she learned how to walk. She learned ballet on her 3rd grade and joined a number of dance productions in school.

It was when she heard her cousin Denise that made her fall in love with singing. She desired not just to move with music but to move people with her music. She was not good in singing at first. But, she tried really hard to learn how to sing. Learning how to sing was easy for her, since she came from a family of singers. She trained by joining the church choir in grade school and the glee club in high school. She went to Center for Pop Music Philippines to learn how to sing popular songs and to improve her stage presence. From then on, she got invited to sing at a number of events and venues.

She had to let go of her budding music career when she passed the University of the Philippines College Admission Test to focus on her college education. She spent her first 3 years taking Computer Science subjects. When her passion for information profession grew bigger than her love for programming, she decided to shift to the School of Library and Information Studies. While at school, she joined different academic organizations that developed her social and leadership skills. Also as a budding entrepreneur, she, together with her friends and team mates, was a semi-finalist at the 2007 Philippine Emerging Start-Ups Open Challenge, a business plan writing competition.

When she thought she would never go back to singing again, an opportunity came. A group of talented library and information science students, which include her, decided to join the December Carolfest and show the whole UP community that librarians or future librarians for that matter are not silent at all. The Singing Librarians, as they call themselves, wowed the audience who watched at the UP Theater and later on was invited to different events. Their biggest break was the 2008 UP Centennial Alumni Homecoming which was held at the Araneta Coliseum. Today, all the members of the Singing Librarians have graduated and concentrating on different careers.

Bianca Rei has earned her Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science in October 2009 and is currently working as an Assistant Librarian in an international school in The Fort. She still sings occasionally, with or without The Singing Librarians, when her work schedule permits her.

Aside from singing, Bianca Rei also loves to cook. She loves to travel and is very into photography. She speaks fluently in Filipino and English, and a little of French.
